The word “indecisive” is defined as “being unable or reluctant to make decisions generally, or to come to a decision about something in particular.”
Sometimes we make decisions that we regret, but sometimes our decisions bring smiles. Decisions are based on who, what, where, why, when and how.
They are also based on our senses, such as hearing, tasting, smelling, and touching. Sometimes making decisions too quickly can cause pain in the long run, because we didn’t seek God first. Proverbs 4:7 says “Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do develop good judgment.”
There is a music group called “Heatwave” who wrote a song called “Mind Blowing Decisions”. There is a particular line that stands out and it says “Mind blowing decisions causes head on collisions”.
I believe that this line is saying that being indecisive about even simple decisions can get out of hand, that it can cause something “explosive or destructive” if not handled wisely. Now when making decisions between one thing and another, it is okay to compare (choose between) which would be best for you and your family, you can weigh your options.
But when you start being vague or indecisive; it can become irritating. James 1:8 says “An indecisive man is unstable in all his ways.” This means being double minded (not standing for one thing or being unable to choose between two things) makes you unfocused.
God gives us the authority to make choices in life whether it is good or bad, we have to choose. He doesn’t force anything on us; it is entirely up to us to make our decisions. God wants us to be wise when making decisions and to use wisdom in our everyday lives.
Matthew 6:33 says “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (NLT)
DECISIONS, DECISIONS, DECISIONS!
