Humble Pie Anyone?

humble pie

It can take a lot for us to humble ourselves and admit that we are not all that! Hiding behind the make-up, designer suit. or coach bag, we are experts at the “I got this!” persona. When we do that we tell God that we don’t need him, but we’ll call him when we do!

For years, I would rather suffer in silence than ask for any kind of help. You know those people who won’t ask for help, but complain about all they had to do to get the job done? That was me! I have learned over the past few months a new sense of understanding where humility is concerned in my relationship with God and people. Saying that you don’t have it all together isn’t a bad thing!

A lot of arguments would’ve ended differently in my life if wasn’t so determined to be right. Humbling myself and saying, “I’m wrong” or “I’m sorry” would’ve saved many from hurt feelings.My mother always says, “Closed mouths don’t get fed”, and she’s right. I believe God gives us weaknesses for us to recognize He is the missing piece and we need him to turn those weaknesses into strengths.

God said that he will:

* Lift up the humble (James 4:10)

* Bring wisdom to the humble (Proverbs 11:2)

*Give grace to the humble (James 4:6)

* Guide the humble (Psalm 25:9)

* Save the humble (2 Samuel 22:28))

And the list goes on and on….We will never reach our full potential without admitting to ourselves that our gifts, talents, education, and networking skills are not enough.

Be Blessed,

Niya

    be amaze when you humble yourself, that is when you hear God speak. We have to learn to talk less and listen more. Be blessed!
