Don’t Kill The Dreamer

Direction of Your Dreams

Written By: Aisha Adams

A dreamer comes in many shapes, forms, and fashions. They can be man, woman, boy or girl. Their dream was conceived and is waiting to be birthed, but many things can put  a hold or stop to their dream. The dreamer has something that some people want. The dreamer has something some people need.  The dreamer has something the enemy (Satan) wants to destroy (John 10 :10).

I can recall a story in the bible about the life of a young man named Joseph, who dreamed of greatness (Genesis 37). Joseph was a young man who was born into a big family.  He had  big  dreams, and always dreamed of being successful. Some of his siblings were offended by the roles they played in his dreams, so they plotted to “destroy“ his dreams. They decided to sell him for 20 pieces of silver –or as James Brown would say, some “chicken change”.

Joseph was also falsely accused of rape and thrown into prison.  Nevertheless Joseph had favor with God and with man and was eventually released from prison. Joseph became the Prime Minister of Egypt. That’s what I call promotion!

Now let’s take a look at another young man named Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls. This young man grew up in one of the most notorious and poverty stricken areas on the Southside of Chicago, Illinois.  Derrick also dreamt big dreams of success.  He dreamt of one day being a major NBA athlete.

He now can do all the things he dreamed of for his family and community, despite of ALL the dream killers, haters, and doubters had to say or what they did! Derrick Rose pursued his Dream! He is now one of the best point guards and basketball players in the NBA! So remember your Blessing can come from the Dreamer’s dream!

This is sooo inspiring! The story of Joseph let’s us know that we are all capable of sometimes not making the right decisions then we suffer the act itself and we pretty much brought it on ourselves. The story of Joseph also reminds us the we are human and more importantly our GOD is a forgiving GOD. Make sure to practice what you preach. Thank you for reminding us that we are to forgive our brothers and sisters and that in GOD’s eyes we are all ONE FAMILY! More importantly remember to pray for each other, IN JESUS NAME!
